Counselling Services

Secondary Care at PROMIS is an essential part of our recovery programme, designed to provide on-going support and stability for those patients who have been through Primary Care or those patients whose need is only for day care.  This can often be a difficult and demanding time and PROMIS co-operates with all of our patients in order to ensure that the transition is both smooth and supportive.

PROMIS Secondary Care is located at the Counselling Clinic within a tranquil Mews, in South Kensington - the heart of London. Treatment provision is similar to our Primary Care programme. With a team of professional therapists in attendance, patients are encouraged to be self-sufficient, while learning new life-skills to prepare them for integration into normal living.

Assessment

PROMIS staff will assess each patient individually, and agree an appropriate care plan. After Primary Care we would recommend a minimum 4 week day-care programme, after which a reduction in days thereafter facilitates recovery and enables a bridge back to normal living.

Care Plan

Each care plan, whether it is full-time or part-time, is designed around the individual’s needs. Experienced PROMIS counselling staff meet prospective patients and discuss their clinical and personal programme in order to guide them towards full recovery.

Day Care

We also accept individuals with outside commitments, who need only day care, perhaps one or two days a week, enabling them to balance life and aid recuperation while at PROMIS. If needed, accommodation can be provided for those using our day-care services.
